Which cars does Ohme work with?
Any plug-in car or plug-in hybrid sold in the UK, because they all charge through the Type 2 connection. Compatibility is not the deciding factor between chargers — tariff, cable preference and price are.

Ohme or BG SyncEV?
For many straightforward home installations, BG SyncEV is the charger our electrician tends to recommend. Ohme is the one we suggest where smart tariff integration is doing real work for the household — high mileage, a compatible EV tariff, and an interest in when the electricity is bought as well as how much.
Any saving depends on your tariff, your supplier's compatibility and how much you actually drive, so we would rather talk it through than quote a figure at you.

Installation and service area
Like any home charge point, an Ohme unit is installed on its own dedicated circuit with the correct protective device and a sound earthing arrangement. Where your main fuse leaves limited headroom, load management is used so the charger reduces its draw at busy times.
We fit Ohme chargers from our base in B36 across Shard End, Castle Bromwich, Chelmsley Wood, Marston Green, Kitts Green, Stechford, Hodge Hill, Sheldon, Yardley, Water Orton and Coleshill, plus the wider Birmingham and Solihull area.
Position matters too. Check where your car's charging port sits when parked, and make sure Wi-Fi reaches the charger position so smart scheduling works reliably.

Will Ohme definitely cut my charging costs?
Only if you are on a compatible smart tariff. The charger shifts charging into cheaper periods — on a flat-rate tariff there are no cheaper periods for it to find.
Can it be fitted before my car is delivered?
Yes. The vehicle does not need to be present for the installation to be completed, tested and certified.
