Why there is no single price
An EV charger installation is part product, part electrical work. The product side is fairly predictable — mainstream 7kW smart chargers sit within a reasonably narrow band. The electrical side is where quotes separate, because that part is decided by your house.

What actually changes the cost
The charger you choose

Where you want the unit affects both the cable route and how much of the work is visible. Mounting it where it looks right and reaches the car's charge port is worth a few minutes of planning before anyone drills anything.
Property layout
Detached garages, block paving, rendered elevations and thick masonry all add time. Reaching a parking space across a lawn or driveway may need ducting and reinstatement — the most common reason a quote lands above a standard installation.
Additional electrical work
Occasionally an assessment finds something that has to be corrected first, such as poor main earthing or damaged tails. We will always explain what is needed and why before doing it.
